Branded Cowboy — Built by Hand. Backed by Family.

Some businesses begin with a detailed business plan. Others begin with someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and wondering, “What could I build?”
For Tyler Stewart, that curiosity became Branded Cowboy, a custom laser engraving business based in Zanesville, Ohio.
And while Tyler owns and operates the business, he'll be the first to tell you his family is an important part of the journey. That relationship inspired the company's fitting tagline:
“Built by Hand. Backed by Family.”
Turning Ideas Into Something Real
Branded Cowboy began primarily with custom leatherette hat patches, which remain one of its most popular products. Since then, Tyler has expanded into custom signs, cutting boards, leather goods, drinkware, sports items, business branding pieces, personalized gifts, awards, and more.
But perhaps the best description of Branded Cowboy is simple:
Bring Tyler an idea and he'll try to figure out how to make it.
In fact, some of his favorite projects begin with a customer asking:
“Do you think you can make this?”
Those challenges give Tyler an opportunity to experiment, solve problems, and create something completely new.

More Than a Western Brand
The Branded Cowboy name reflects Tyler's appreciation for Western and country style, but don't let the name fool you.
His customers include businesses, farms, sports teams, hunters, fishermen, organizations, families, and individuals looking for something unique.
There's also something special about seeing one of his creations out in the community.
“It's pretty cool seeing something you designed end up on someone's hat around town,” Tyler says.

Building Something as a Family
Tyler started Branded Cowboy because he wanted to build something of his own.
That journey has required learning much more than engraving. Like many entrepreneurs, he has had to become the designer, marketer, photographer, customer service department, pricing specialist, packager—and problem solver.
His advice to other entrepreneurs reflects that experience:
“Just start.”
Don't wait for perfect equipment, the perfect website, or until you have every answer. Start with what you have, listen to customers, learn from mistakes, and continue improving.
Which House Is Branded Cowboy?
For Tyler, the answer was easy:

Oakfield. Definitely.
Leather. Hats. Craftsmanship. Hard work. Western style. Country grit.
Branded Cowboy and Oakfield seem like a natural match.
And that's exactly why we're proud to have Branded Cowboy as one of Oakfield's Business Partners.
Built by Hand. Backed by Family.
That's more than a slogan.
It's how Branded Cowboy is being built.
